Miss Chylene Player Burdick
A Sumter native and Winthrop University alumni with over 30 years of teaching experience. She began her training at Betty Freed School of Dance and climbed up to the ranks of Freed Spirit at the age of 12, studying under Andrea Freed-Levenson. She was captain/choreographer and eventually coach of the Winthrop dance team and a dance minor at the university too. After teaching in Fort Mill, she returned to Sumter to teach and she co-founded the Rising Stars at Miss Libby's and led them to a National Title before leaving to start her own dance school in Darlington, SC with Miss Brenda Cranford of Hartsville, SC. Miss Chylene returned to Sumter to open DREAMWORKS and sees her gift as a ministry to the youth of Sumter. Her students have traveled internationally on mission trips and have found that dance is the international language and a gift in sharing Christ with others.
She traveled to Botswana, Africa in the summer 2011 to help lead a Christian children's conference. She volunteers at Crosswell Children's Home, ADMS Special Needs, ADBC Sunday School and VBS, and Harmony Church Bible Alive. She has taught choreography for the Alice Drive Elementary Spring Fling for the past 10 years. She was the Dance gifted and Talented instructor for School District #17 for 5 years. She has national titles and choreography awards to her credit. She was a special needs dance instructor at Public Schools in Florence and Sumter and Owned Dance Dynamics Darlington for 7 years. It is my true desire that every Dreamworks student feel loved and appreciated for whatever they are interested in pursuing, regardless of level or talent. Available for solos, duet/trios and technique work.
Miss Jane Player Privette
Jane has been in Sumter over 40 years. She is the director of the Little Miss Sumter/Manning preliminaries and the Iris Festival Pageant. She has directed pageants for over 30 years. She ran her own baton and modeling school for several years in the Sumter Community at PARD and the Sumter Y. She worked as a realtor and administrative assistant at Alice Drive Baptist Church. She has been with DDA since the beginning, she loves people and is always willing to help. She is married to Ken Privette and they have 5 children and ALOT of grandkids!
Philip Ingrassia - Ballet master
Soloist with Columbia City Ballet
This ballet star will join our studio on Monday and Tuesdays this year to take our ballet program to the next level. Philip is a soloist with CCB and is highly sought after as a ballet master teacher. He is married to Autumn, also a ballerina with CCB and they will be expecting their first child in the Fall. We are so thrilled to have him join our staff.
Technique teacher and choreographer
Rebecca started dancing at the age of 3 at a local studio in Maryland. She then went on to dance at a preforming art high school and continued her studies as a dance major at George Mason University in Fairfax VA. Rebecca has had formal training in ballet, jazz, lyrical, contemporary and tap.
Rebecca taught dance at an award winning studio in Northern VA for 13 year, where she won numerous teaching and choreography awards. She then moved to Alamogordo NM where she started a dance program at Holloman AFB and had over 80 children involved in the program.
Currently Rebecca is a proud Air Force wife and mother to two beautiful baby girls. She enjoys teaching at Dreamworks and being able to be back in a studio setting.

Rebecca started dancing at the age of 5 in Manning, SC. In elementary school, she moved up to Sumter and joined Miss Libby’s Dance School where she studied several different styles of dance and worked her way up to be a company dance team member. Rebecca has experience in leading and choreographing hip-hop, lyrical, jazz and praise dance. Each summer, Rebecca travels to Dallas, TX to choreograph performance shows for Premier Designs National Rally. She has been an asset to our Adult dance program for years. She absolutely loves using her talents for the Lord and would like to give it all back to Him.

Miss Heather Merritt - former teacher and support staff
Original Dream Team member and one of our first students
She has trained under Miss Chylene for 7 years and has taught on her own for 2 successful years. Heather led our Junior dream team last year and her choreography is inventive and entertaining. Several of her 2016 recital dances used Christian music and really shared each message so well. She has teaching experience and training in tap, jazz, ballet, lyrical, tumbling, and gymnastics. She is a former cheerleader and competitive dancer. We are so thankful to have such a lovely Christian young woman on staff. She was an honor graduate of SHS and she is the Associate Pastor of Children's Ministry at Alice Drive Baptist Church. Heather dedicated last summer to work as a missionary in Thailand and dedicated this summer to Children's ministry in Sumter and New York. She has taught at our Crosswell Home outreach and MINI-mester. She is ready to pass on her Dreamwork's training to the next generation of dancers, acrobats, and gymnasts. She will be pursuing her Elementary Education at USC Sumter on scholarship this year. Available for solos, duet/trios and technique work.
Senior Dream team member, Governor's School of Arts participant, National Scholarship Winner
Olivia Burdick has just completed a 5 week intensive ballet study with the Governor's School for the Arts in Greenville, SC. She has won numerous award, National scholarships, New York and LA dance scholarships, as well as, maintaining all A's in the honors program at SHS. She began assisting classes at DDA at 10 years old and will now begin co-teaching her own classes. We are glad to have you on staff!
Miss Mariah McKellar- former teacher and support staff
Team Gymnastics, Tumbling and Acro
Miss Mariah has been with us 9 years now. Mariah traveled to Columbia from Sumter 3-4 times a week to train as a competitive gymnasts in her youth. Now, she works hard to train our budding competitive gymnasts, while saving them the same drive. Her daughter Katie trains with us, and son Jack has been involved in dance and tumbling. Mariah is the former director of Medical services with United Ministries, and now is a respiratory therapist at Palmetto Health Tuomey. She is married to Clint McKellar and an active member of Aldersgate Methodist Church. Her husband is in law enforcement and leads worship at Aldersgate Methodist and has performed and recorded with EMPIRE STATE christian hip hop recording artist. She has two talented and lively children, Jack and Katie.
