INSPIRED DANCE AND GYMNASTICS PROFESSIONALS
Miss Chylene Player Burdick - owner/lead teacher - A Sumter native and Winthrop University alumni with 22 years dance, gymnastics and cheer teaching experience. She will be traveling to Africa this summer to help lead a Christian children's conference in Botswana. Co founded the Rising Stars at Miss Libby's and led them to a National Title before leaving to start her own dance school. Miss Chylene sees her gift as a ministry to the youth of Sumter. She volunteers at Crosswell Children's Home, ADMS Special Needs, ADBC Sunday School and VBS. She has taught choreography for the Alice Drive Elementary Spring Fling for the past 3 years. She was the Dance gifted and Talented instructor for School District #17 for 5 years. She has national titles and choreography awards to her credit. Chylene also works with Alice Drive Baptist Church Creative Ministries. She was a special needs dance instructor at Public Schools in Florence and Sumter and Owned Dance Dynamics Darlington for 7 years. Available for solos, duet/trios and technique work.
Miss Ashley Evans - technique/choreographer- Ashley recieved her degree from Winthrop University in Dance Education. As an honor student, she participated in dance theatre and competed with the Winthrop Dance Team. She is a former student with Dale Lam of Columbia City Jazz and toured Austria dancing with this group. She teaches for the Dillon school District in their Middle/High school dance programs, directs their color guard for marching band. She is a technical master and will work hard to ensure every toe points and each knee straightens. We are fortunate to have her with us this year. Available for solos, duet/trios and technique work.
Miss Brittany Caldwell - Tap instructor and dance/gymnastics instructor - Brittany is a National competitor in Tap and has too many awards to mention. She was trained at the Brenda Cranford School of Dance in Hartsville, SC. She has won Double Platinum awards at Showstoppers National competition. She is a positive, inspring individual that always has a smile on her face. She is on full scholarship at the University of South Carolina as a Chemical Engineering major. We love it when Miss Brittany walks in the door.
Miss Jane Player Privette - administrative assistant - Jane has been in Sumter over 40 years. She ran her own baton and modeling school for several years in the Sumter Community. She worked as a realtor and administrative assistant at Alice Drive Baptist Church. She has been with DDA since the beginning. She is always willing to help.
COMMITTED GYMNASTICS/TUMBLING PROFESSIONALS
Mariah McKellar - Gymnastics - Mariah traveled to Columbia from Sumter 3-4 times a week to train as a competitive gymnasts in her youth. Now, she works hard to train our budding competitive gymnasts and saving them the same drive. Her daughter and son, Katie and Jack, trains with us. Mariah is a RT at Tuomey Medical Center, married to Clint McKellar and an active member of Aldersgate Methodist Church. Her husband sings with EMPIRE STATE christian hip hop recording artist.
Miss Rebecca Montague - dance, cheer and tumbling- Rebecca is our most recent college graduate with her Doctorate in Physical Therapy. She is employed by Tuomey Medical Center. She brings an extensive dance, cheerleading and gymnastics background to our studio. She competed with the Dreamgirls in 2008, she was a competitive dancer, cheerleader and gymnasts in her youth. We are so happy to have such a knowledgable instructor on staff. She is available for private lessons.
