Miss Chylene Player Burdick
Owner/lead teacher
A Sumter native and Winthrop University alumni with 30 years of teaching experience.   She began her training at Betty Freed School of Dance and climbed up to the ranks of Freed Spirit at the age of 12, which is currently the Sumter Civic Dance Company. After teaching with Eddie Mabry in Fort Mill, she returned to Sumter to teach and she co-founded the Rising Stars at Miss Libby's and led them to a National Title before leaving to start her own dance school in Darlington, SC with Miss Brenda Cranford of Hartsville, SC. Miss Chylene returned to open DREAMWORKS and sees her gift as a ministry to the youth of Sumter.  Her students have traveled internationally on mission trips and have found that dance is the international language and a gift in sharing Christ with others.  She traveled to Botswana, Africa in the summer 2011 to help lead a Christian children's conference. She volunteers at Crosswell Children's Home, ADMS Special Needs, ADBC Sunday School and VBS, and Harmony Church Bible Alive. She has taught choreography for the Alice Drive Elementary Spring Fling for the past 8 years. She was the Dance gifted and Talented instructor for School District #17 for 5 years. She has national titles and choreography awards to her credit.  She was a special needs dance instructor at Public Schools in Florence and Sumter and Owned Dance Dynamics Darlington for 7 years. It is my true desire that every Dreamworks student feel loved and appreciated for whatever they are interested in pursuing, regardless of level or talent.  Available for solos, duet/trios and technique work.

Miss Ashley Concannon

She is a starting her 3rd year as our ballet mistress and we are happy to have her return.  She is always smiling and genuinely loves teaching all ages of children.  She has been selected as a 2017-2018 Artist in residence with the Columbia music festival.   A native of New Jersey, Ashley studied at Princeton Dance and Theatre Studio under the direction of Susan Jaffe and Risa Kaplowitz.  She received additional training at Miami City Ballet and Complexions Contemporary Ballet and received coaching from Cynthia Gregory, Karin Averty and Roy Kaiser.  After attending Orlando's ballet intensive in 2006, she was accepted in Orlando Ballet II.  In 2008, she returned to NJ to perform as a guest artist in American Repertory Ballet's production of the Nutcracker. Since 2009, she has been a company member of the Columbia City Ballet with William Starrett, dancing in Dracula, Nutcracker, Romeo and Juliet, Giselle, Peter Pan, and many more.  Available for solos, duet/trios and technique work.

Miss Heather Merritt
Original Dream Team member and one of our first students
She has trained under Miss Chylene for 7 years and has taught on her own for 2 successful years. Heather  led our Junior dream team last year and her choreography is inventive and entertaining.   Several of her 2016 recital dances used Christian music and really shared each message so well.   She has teaching experience and training in tap, jazz, ballet, lyrical, tumbling, and gymnastics.  She is a former cheerleader and competitive dancer. We are so thankful to have such a lovely Christian young woman on staff. She was an honor graduate of SHS and she is the Associate Pastor of Children's Ministry at Alice Drive Baptist Church. Heather dedicated last summer to work as a missionary in Thailand and dedicated this summer to Children's ministry in Sumter and New York.  She has taught at our Crosswell Home outreach and MINI-mester. She is ready to pass on her Dreamwork's training to the next generation of dancers, acrobats, and gymnasts. She will be pursuing her Elementary Education at USC Sumter on scholarship this year. Available for solos, duet/trios and technique work.

Miss Jane Player Privette
Administrative Assistant
Jane has been in Sumter over 40 years. She is the director of the Little Miss Sumter/Manning preliminaries and the Iris Festival Pageant.  She has directed pageants for over 30 years.  She ran her own baton and modeling school for several years in the Sumter Community at PARD and the Sumter Y. She worked as a realtor and administrative assistant at Alice Drive Baptist Church. She has been with DDA since the beginning, she loves people and is always willing to help.  She is married to Ken Privette and they have 5 children and ALOT of grandkids!

Miss Mariah McKellar
Team Gymnastics, Tumbling and Acro
Miss Mariah has been with us 9 years now. Mariah traveled to Columbia from Sumter 3-4 times a week to train as a competitive gymnasts in her youth. Now, she works hard to train our budding competitive gymnasts, while saving them the same drive.  Her daughter Katie trains with us, and son Jack has been involved in dance and tumbling. Mariah is the former director of Medical services with United Ministries, and now is a respiratory therapist at Palmetto Health Tuomey. She is married to Clint McKellar and an active member of Aldersgate Methodist Church. Her husband is in law enforcement and leads worship at Aldersgate Methodist and has performed and recorded with EMPIRE STATE christian hip hop recording artist. She has two talented and lively children, Jack and Katie.

Miss Rachel Knauer
Dream Team member, Youth leader and Senior Tap soloist Champion
This year our students will enjoy classes with Miss Rachel on Tuesdays and Thursdays at our studio. Miss Rachel took her first dance class with Miss Chylene at 6 years old.  She competed with Dream Team for 8 years. She swept Senior Solo awards at competition last year with top scores in tap. She has been an active member of Harmony Church and youth group.  She was homeschooled all 12 years and graduated with honors. She is studying in college to be a Geriatric Recreational Therapist. Her smile is Contagious and her faith is strong, plus her dance skills Will amaze you!  She is teaching Junior Tap, Petite Lyrical, Petite Hip hop, Wiggle and Giggle, Adult Tap and Jazz, Mini Hip Hop, Tween Hip Hop and assisting Dream Team in Senior Hip Hop too!!

Marissa Lentz
Former Level 9 gymnast and college cheerleader
This military spouse comes to us from New York where she was a competitive Level 9 gymnast. She also cheered in High school and college. She brings a wealth of knowledge, workouts and skills to our gym. Marissa is a nanny in the day and a rock star in our gym on Thursday evenings.  Marissa is safety certified with USA Gymnastics and has taught advanced skills to our students.  She will be teaching Tumbling and stretch and flexibility.  We are glad to have Marissa back this year!!

Madison Weeks 
Dream Team member, Youth leader and Senior tap trio champion
Madison attended Wilson Hall school k4-12th grade and will graduated with honors in May.  She will attend USC Sumter in the fall and USC Columbia in Spring 2018.  She is a public health major.  She won first overall for Buckets (tap trio) at DMI in 2016.  She is a former Spirit of Dreamworks winner and loves anything Carolina (go COCKS)  She attends Christ Community church and volunteers in the church nursery. 
Madison loves spending time with her family and friends at the lake.  Madison volunteered at Dreamworks Dance Academy for several years and became a gymnastics teacher her senior year.  Madison has consistently been named by her team mates as a hard worker with dedication to every class and style. She is a delight to teach and will be a delightful teacher.

Sherri Ross Dorman - 
Professional dancer and gymnastics coach
She is our Gymnastics and tumbling coach, but brings a wealth of dance knowledge to our staff. Originally from Sumter, Sherri has traveled the world performing and teaching. She is married to Alan Dorman, a proud member of our military, and mother of Charlotte and Paisley. She was an original Rising Star of Sumter. After graduation, she performed at Busch Gardens in Florida. She danced for Norwegian and Carnival Cruise lines for 6 years. After she married Alan, she began coaching Competitive gymnastics while stationed in Italy. They have been stationed at Shaw AFB for several years and she has enjoyed helping gymnasts, cheerleaders and dancers achieve their dreams.
Her faith is strong and she knows that her hope is in Christ alone.   Sherri teaches in our gym on Thursdays.  She has 2 little dancers and gymnasts, Charlotte and Paisley.
