Important Dates to Remember


Tuition is based on a school year of dance, August -May and includes all holidays.   Each student will receive 34 classes, plus rehearsals, performances and opportunities to serve in the community.
We do not Pro rate for missed classes, since you are holding a valuable spot, 
PAY THE YEAR IN FULL and receive a free month or break it down payable in nine equal payments due by the 15th of each month beginning August 15th.  
A late fee of $10.00 will be added to your account if not paid by the 25th of the month.  
We do not send monthly invoices/statements. You will receive a statement only if your account is past due. Any account that becomes 30 days past due will be notified by email or phone call.  In the event an account becomes 60 days past due, the past due balance will charged to the credit card provided upon enrollment.

We encourage you to set up an automatic monthly draft with a credit or debit card, please go to our website and follow instructions.  We offer a 10% discount to all active duty military families for monthly tuition payments.  
We cannot combine discounts. 

IN ADDITION TO TUITION, students will need to purchase proper dancewear and shoes, pay registration fee, recital costume and recital fees.  We have dancewear in our store...

ABSENCES / MAKE-UP CLASSES
Attendance is imperative! Give us advance notice by phone for an absence or tardy, so we can be prepared in class.  Absences and tardiness can have a negative effect on the entire class.  Classes missed for sickness, personal vacation, etc. may be made up in an age appropriate class within 30 days of the absence. It is the responsibility of the parent to notify the front desk 24 hours prior to a makeup class.  Advance notice is required to allow our staff to find the correct make-up class for your student.      

WEEKLY DANCE/GYM ATTIRE
It’s important for students abide by a dress code policy for the following reasons:  A neat and tidy appearance sets an attitude of attentiveness and respect for students, instructors, and the art of dance and gymnastics.  Instructors must be able to see the student's torso and hips clearly in order to make proper corrections on posture/alignment. 
Hair must be properly secured and tied up off of the face and neck.
No jewelry. NO BARE midriffs.
Gum chewing is not allowed due to danger of choking and appearance.
No loose fitting pants, blue jeans or t-shirts (they are not dance attire).
We carry a full line of dance shoes, gymnastics & dance leotards. 
We offer dance  STARTER kits.  
They contain all the required items for classes and save you $15-$20

INCLEMENT WEATHER
 We will follow closing decisions determined by the Sumter School District.

OBSERVANCE (Parent Viewing Days)  Observing will be allowed during the first FULL WEEK OF CLASSES of November and March   These are the only dates for class observance, unless prearranged by the Director.

DANCE COSTUMES/ GYMNASTICS
Payment for dance recital costumes & gymnastics expo outfits  are due on or before November 1st . Any orders placed after Thanksgiving break will incur an express production charge of $15.00.  We order costumes & attire during the holiday break.  Costume companies can take up to 12-16 weeks to ship orders.  We pass the savings on to you becuase we receive an bird discount for ordering before December.

ANNUAL RECITAL FEE
The annual PERFORMANCE FEE is $20 per student/$10 additional child in family and helps cover the cost of rental facilities, trophies, gifts, advertising, printing costs and keeping our students safe during each performance.  Each student receives a participation trophy and 6 free tickets to our May recitals. 
Additional tickets may be purchased for $5.00.  
The annual RECITAL FEE will be DUE FEBRUARY 15TH, 2016 
    We love to entertain and we offer to perform at many community events. In order to participate at any performance your account must reflect a zero balance unless payment arrangements have been arranged.

PICTURES
All Group dance, gymnastics, Acro Dance pictures are scheduled for April . Individual picture packets are available.

MAY RECITALS
ALL of our Spring recitals in May 2018 at Patriot Hall.  
SPRING GYMNASTICS/ACRO RECITAL IS FIRST SATURDAY IN MAY 2018.
SPRING DANCE RECITALS IS SECOND SATURDAY IN MAY 2018.
Audience members exclaim that they leave with hope and inspiration for the summer.  Recital tickets will be available the end of April after accounts are zeroed out.   6 tickets will be set aside per student. Additional tickets can be purchased for $5.00 from the front office or at the box office of Patriot Hall - 1hour prior to showtime.

TROPHIES
 Each student will receive one participation dance recital trophy and/or gymnastics medal.  Please contact the front desk if it is your 5th, 10th, or 15th year of dance or gymnastics. Special trophies will be awarded for these accomplishments.  We honor the previous years attended at other studios.  Perfect Attendance Certificates will be awarded for those students achieving 100% perfect attendance. Please understand that we cannot make exceptions.

CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

ACROBATIC GYMNASTICS - the fastest growing area of dance,  is the performance of extraordinary feats of balance, agility, and motor coordination. It can be found in many of the performing arts as well as in many sports (sporting) events, and martial arts. Acrobatics is most often associated with activities that make extensive use of gymnastic elements, such as acro dance, circus, and gymnastics, but many other athletic activities — such as ballet and diving — may also employ acrobatics. Although acrobatics is most commonly associated with human body performance, it may also apply to other types of performance, such as aerobatics
  • ACRO and tumbling LEVEL 1 - NO PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE - starts with rolls, handstands, bridges, cartwheels and intro to strength and flexibility skills
  • ACRO and tumbling LEVEL 2 - EXPERIENCE w/ a solid cartwheel, bridge, handstand and knowledge of forward/backward rolls and more experience partner skills and flexibility skills.
  • ACRO and tumbling LEVEL 3 - EXPERIENCE w/back walkover and a roundoff.

GYMNASTICS for K3 and up  USAG levels through 4 
A bigger gym is not always better for a child.  We feel that we offer the finest gymnastics instruction in bars, beam, vault and floor in an intimate setting.  GROUPS are leveled with 1 teacher/7 kids ratio and every teacher is a former gymnasts or experienced team coach.   Don't let our size fool you!

  • TINY GYMNASTICS - (K3 AND K4) Our teachers have many years of experience with preschoolers and use this expertise to bring out your child's true talent. Lots of games and fun to make our class a fun, learning experience.
  • MINI LEVEL 1 - NO PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE - start with rolls, handstands, bridges, cartwheels and intro to bars, beam and vault
  • PETITE LEVEL 2 - EXPERIENCE w/ a solid cartwheel, bridge, handstand and knowledge of forward/backward rolls and experience on bars, beam, and vault.
  • TEAM LEVEL 3 - EXPERIENCE w/ solid cartwheel, roundoff, bridge kickover, and mastery of pullovers, heel drives and jumps on beam.

PRESCHOOLERS

WIGGLE AND GIGGLE - for 2 and younger 3 year olds - Creative Movement with acro and ballet concepts throughout. Scarves, balls, instruments, hula hoops, costumes and imagination make this the perfect class for your child. We want your child to "fall in love' with dance.

TINY DANCER  - K3 and K4 - This combo will teach tap, ballet and Acrobatics skills each week for only $45 a month. We will introduce your child to the beginning basics in this 45 minute class. Great starter class for ages K3 AND K4.   TINY GYMNASTICS also available.

THE NEXT LEVEL FOR K5 AND UP
MINI AND PETITE DANCER CHOOSE 1 OR MORE

MINI DANCER (K5-2nd grade)- CLASSES will teach different dance styles each week.   We will introduce your child to the next level curriculum.
MINI TAP  and JAZZ COMBO * MINI HIP HOP *  
MINI BALLET *  MINI GYMNASTICS 
AFTER 5PM MINI DANCER COMBO CLASS 

MINI PRE - BALLET-  (Ages 6 and up) Grace and Balance can sum it up best. No serious performer or dancer should be without the foundation of dance. It makes all other dance forms look better! We require black leotards, pink tights with a slick bun to participate in class. 


PETITE DANCER (3RD - 5TH GRADE) - CLASSES will teach different dance styles in a 30 minute block each week.   We will introduce your child to the intermediate skills for dance and gymnastics.

PETITE GYMNASTICS


CLASSICAL BALLET taught by Miss Ashley Concannon of Columbia City Ballet   - Grace and Balance can sum it up best.  No serious performer or dancer should be without the foundation of dance.  It makes all other dance forms look better!  We require black leotards, pink tights with a slick bun to participate in class.  Grouped by age and experience.
Ballet I - 1 hour - First year classical ballet students
Ballet II - 1 - 11/2 hours - 2 years of classical ballet and teacher requirement
Ballet III -  2 hour with pointe - 3 years of classical ballet and teacher recommendation

BEGINNER POINTE - TEACHER RECOMMENDATION REQUIRED.  We offer this class for students with at least two years of ballet technique with classical training.  Students must have strong ankles and feet.  Students feet must be fully developed.  We require black leotards, pink tights with a slick bun to participate in class.  Ballet and Pointe Shoes will be fitted in August.  Grouped by age and experience

JAZZ DANCE  - Based on the jazz techniques from New York and LA, we introduce your child to an fun world of cool moves and turns and leaps.  This is a favorite and requires coordination and flexibility that we develop through warmup and center floor exercises.  Grouped by age and experience.

TAP DANCE  -   Rhythm, Sound, Stomp, Clap, and Shuffle off to Buffalo.  We explore all tap from the original masters to the hip new hoofers, as in Mumbles from Happy Feet.  (Otherwise known as Savion Glover)  We require tan tap shoes for our dancers.   Grouped by age and experience.

LYRICAL/CONTEMPORARY -Ballet without all the rules or interpretive dance would be a good description.  Dance with freedom and without all of the structure. We encourage students to be expressive and relate to the words in the contemporary christian music that we use.

HIP HOP - w/floor work - Christian artist are a mainstay in this class. Our focus is on Praise. Everyone wants to "Jump up, Jump up and Get down". Join a class today to see what the newest dance craze is in the USA. It is for everyone with experience or not. Comfortable clothing and tennis shoes is all you need.

ADULT dance is $20 per month if you have a child enrolled at Dreamworks. Older teens and adults with or without tap or jazz experience. This 30 minute class will give you all the tappin, rhythm, and fun you can handle. Join us for tappin' and fellowship. We are the "hit" of the recital.
